Steffen’s Rental Rental Terms and Polices

Valid United States I.D. i.e. unexpired state driver’s license, Social Security Card, from the USA Social Security Administration, with your signature AND Photo Identification with your signature or a government issued identification card, military identification or passport.


Once the rented equipment leaves our yards, you are completely responsible for it until you return it to our rental yards and have been issued a receipt. You, the renter, are responsible for any property damage or theft of the equipment. You should check with your personal or business insurance agent for the proper insurance. You are liable for the equipment.

On certain items with high OEM (original equipment manufacturer value) a certificate of insurance will be required prior to the onset of renting equipment. You will be notified when placing your reservation if a certificate of insurance is required prior to renting. Your homeowners or business insurance agent should be used to supplying certificates of insurance on a regular basis and should be the person you contact for more information. All rentals will require a deposit be paid in advance at the rental contract initiation (not when equipment is reserved) and will be applied towards the final rental price when all rented equipment is returned in the same condition it was received, minus normal wear and within the agreed upon rental period.

Deposits will vary depending on the equipment and time it is to be rented. Our rule of thumb is that the rental amount be paid in advance, plus a minimum of one additional day’s rent, and any additional charges such as delivery, pickup, fuel, merchandise, etc.

Deposits can be made by credit card, bank card or cash.


Quotes can be made through our website here within 24 hours a quote for the equipment will be emailed back to you. You MUST then call to turn that quote into a reservation.

Reservations can be made in person or by calling any location.


Your rental starts when you pick up the rented equipment and ends when the item is returned and you are given closed receipt for the return  You are responsible for all time our equipment is in your possession including Saturdays, Sundays, and Holidays.


  • 1 day = Twenty-four hours (24) *8 hours on metered machines
  • 1 week = Seven consecutive days (7) *40 hours on metered machines
  • 1 month = 28 consecutive days *160 hours on metered machines


All returns after 30 days are subject to a minimum of 20% restocking fee; returns after 90 days will not be accepted. All returns must be unused and in their original packaging to be eligible for return. Refunds can only be issued in the same manor in which the purchase was originally made.

All used equipment sales are as is, where is and are final. No warranties are expressed or implied with the sale of any used equipment.

All special order items are pre-paid and final.


Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Discover and Cash. We do NOT accept checks.

Our standard terms for charge accounts are net 30. Cash customers are due at the close of the contract- no terms.


To avoid being charged sales tax, please furnish us with your tax exemption number. Otherwise all rental transactions will be charged sales tax.



Delivery and pickup available upon request. There will be an additional charge for this service and it is related to the type of equipment and distance traveled for delivery/pickup. Inquiries can be made on be calling the respective location you are renting from and talking to one of our qualified customer service representatives.

Customers MUST call to release an item for pickup. Pickup times are not set within contracts.



All equipment is supplied full of the proper fuel (gasoline, diesel fuel, kerosene). It is the customer's responsibility to return the equipment full of fuel or pay the prevailing rate needed to refill the equipment.


We make every effort that all rental equipment is clean when you pick it up. Equipment will be evaluated upon rental return. A cleaning charge will be added if the equipment is returned dirty.


The customer will be responsible for all tire damage or flats. If you call us for on-the-job or shop repair of tires, we will charge you our standard shop labor rate, and any additional material fees.


All customers who would like to tow a piece of our equipment must have an appropriate receiver type hitch and a vehicle capable of towing the intended load. We reserve the right to refuse a rental due to safety, ability or vehicle concerns.


While we strive to provide the best equipment possible, occasionally even the best malfunctions. In the event of this, we ask that you immediately discontinue the use of it call, notify the location in which you rented the machine from within 45 minutes of the occurrence and return it to our facility for replacement and/or repair.


Equipment must be returned within normal business hours, equipment left outside on our lots after close will incur an additional one day rental fee. Renters need to also keep in mind if they return rented equipment to our lots when we are not open and they leave without a closed contract receipt they are still responsible for the equipment if it is damaged or stolen.


We are happy to assist with loading and unloading of equipment however we are not responsible for any damages while doing so. We cannot however assist with customers loading or unloading their own trailers.
